A fan translation of Love Quest, a Super Famicom comedy love-adventure released only in Japan. It is free and non-commercial. The patch contains no ROM data: you apply it to your own copy of the Japanese cartridge. This is a beta; see Known issues below.
1.1.4-beta
- The hero's profile card, written by his mother, now reads "Occupation: Salaryman" (it read "Salawyman"). The Japanese card is written in childlike spelling throughout, and the translation had carried that baby talk across the whole card as a stylistic choice; it now follows the Japanese directly, so only her lisped "24 yeaws old" keeps the baby talk, as the original does.
- About Text Speed (it looked like a bug): Text Speed on the title menu sets the speed of one save file. Make a save first, then choose Text Speed, pick that file and a speed from 0 (fast) to 7 (slow). The menu closes without asking to confirm, exactly as in the Japanese game, and a new game started afterwards runs at the normal speed. Location names stay on screen for about a second at every speed, the same as in the Japanese game.
1.1.3-beta
- Fixed: the restaurant and inn doors could not be entered (the Shinjuku restaurant and the inn under the INN sign). Some parts of the redrawn signs could be stepped on; they are solid again, as in the Japanese game.
- 202 script records that were still Japanese are now English: the crane game, the karaoke songs, the Shibuya police-station and jail arc, and some records in banks 8, 9, 11, 13 and 14.
- 18 choice lists that were still Japanese are now English.
- The choice cursor now sits on the right row when an English question wraps to two rows (13 lists).
- Item names no longer leave a gap before the punctuation after them ("Hamburger.").
- The station, shop, bank, karaoke and other signs are redrawn as English pixel art. The restaurant sign reads DINING, and the orange katakana sign beside CAMERAS reads GLASSES.
- An editor pass over the new text.

Native 256×224 captures of this build from the automated walk. Not pictured: shops, the painted signs, love battles, the crane game, karaoke and the Shibuya police-station arc. The walk used for these pictures does not reach them, so no clean capture of them was made for this page.

- Use a headerless copy of the Japanese ROM that matches the checksums above. If your file is 1,573,376 bytes it has a 512-byte copier header; remove it first.
- Apply the
.bpswith Flips, RomPatcher.js (in a browser) or beat. BPS checks the source checksum, so a patcher that rejects your ROM means your dump differs. - Play in an accurate SNES emulator or on a flash cart. The patched ROM is 3 MiB.
Tested on. Mesen 2 on macOS, and the project's Mesen build on Linux, both played from power-on. The Linux checks were an automated walk of 508 steps from reset, plus walks with Mesen's power-on RAM set to random as well as zeroed; the build clears its own working memory before use. It has not been tried on other emulators or on real hardware.
- This is a beta. Several of the project's release checks were waived for it, by decision of the project lead: not every screen has been checked on screen; the typography findings (101 open, such as ragged line breaks) have not been read through; and the crane game and the Shibuya arc dialogue were not walked by the automated checks.
- Some names are working titles and may change: Wife of Heaven, Mako, Salian, Chief Detective, Sour Records, Big Echo, Conclusion, Pascal and Plato; the SHIBUYA station sign; and the street signs OMOTE / SANDO and SHI / BUYA, which are split over two lines.
- DINING stands in for レストラン on the restaurant sign.
- A few signs and emblems stay in Japanese on purpose: the emblem on the Chinese restaurant, two tiny product labels (a tissue box and a fireworks crate) and one lattice sign.
- A name or number pasted into a sentence after an odd number of letters can leave a small gap before it.
- The developers' hidden debug menu is still Japanese, and so is the default name used by the music test's hidden city start. Neither is part of normal play.
- Love-battle reaction lines and some rare menus are translated but were not all seen on screen in testing.
